Who We Are
Where does the name Oasis come from?
Our mission is to develop markets so small family farms can preserve their traditional way of life (no easy feat in today's agricultural landscape) and deliver dairy products of the purest quality to our customers who rely on them. In this sense, we strive to be an Oasis for both our hardworking farming community and the consumer searching for something more in today's food market.
Our Farmers
Oasis partners with small dairy farms are operated by Amish and Mennonite families within our community. In keeping with traditional cultural practices that have been passed down for generations, these farms rely on manual equipment and techniques to tend the land and raise their herds. Our farmers utilize practices to provide a better quality of life for their cows, including lots of time in sunny pastures and plenty of good hay and grass all year long.
Our Culture
As an Amish owned and operated creamery, Oasis has strong connections to traditional farming practices and a passion for stewarding the land. Instead of tractors and machinery billowing smoke, you'll find farmers working the fields alongside their teams of mules, in close relationship to the land. This approach cultivates a deep appreciation for the work that it takes to produce real, quality dairy products, and we think you'll be able to taste the difference!
Our Milk
The flagship dairy products we produce at Oasis Creamery comes from small grass-fed herds comprised primarily of heritage breeds dairy cows. These cows get plenty of time outside in their grassy pastures in fresh air and sunshine - and we think you'll be able to taste the difference! Milk from grass-fed cows is superior for a number of reasons; it contains higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which is an anti-carcinogen and studies show that the fats in milk from grass-fed cows help to reduce the risk of heart attacks! Additionally, milk from heritage breeds is higher in A2 proteins, which aid digestion and can allow people who usually can't consume dairy to enjoy milk and cheese without any issues! We offer raw milk, organic grass fed milk as well as conventional milk, in homogenized or non-homogenized (cream line) forms, and in whole and low fat styles!
